ESMRMB encourages active participation in our community by students and trainees. We therefore offer a financial support programme to facilitate attendance at our yearly congress. The stipend is dedicated to junior ESMRMB members who submitted an abstract as presenting authors and wish to attend the 2026 congress. It consists in free registration to the full congress (precongress + main congress), plus up to €400 reimbursement of travel expenses. Applicants need to provide a short motivation letter, together with an estimated budget for their stay in Girona. In order to be eligible, you need to be an ESMRMB junior member by the application deadline.

The awardees will be selected by the ESMRMB awards committee and the congress planning committee (CPC) based on two  evaluation criteria: i) the quality of the scientific contribution; and ii) the diversity the awardees’ attendance brings to the annual meeting from a geographical and economical perspective. Preference will be given to middle or low income countries as defined by the OECD or lower european income countries and other under-represented groups within our ESMRMB membership.

If a stipend is granted to a qualified applicant, the award will be paid out directly to the applicant (by bank transfer or check) and not the applicant’s institution or supervisor.

Please note that registration fees cannot be reimbursed! In case you registered and balanced the registration fee for the Annual Meeting before being accepted for the Student Support Programme, the ESMRMB will not refund any amount after acceptance for the Student Support Programme. Acceptance and rejection notifications will go out in mid-August. The early bird registration fee for the congress is available until 4 September.
